Job Development and Employer Outreach
The Arc Eastern Connecticut is home to a team of employment specialists who help companies in eastern Connecticut recruit, hire and retain quality people for full- and part-time employment. As a supported employment provider with a full-time Job Development component, we have a proven approach, specializing in matching employers with qualified individuals who live with a disability.
Prospective employees take advantage of a wide range of services, classes, trainings, and workshops, including:

Individualized skills assessment and development of career goals and desires

The option of trying multiple placements to see which job matches the person’s career goals

Career counseling, including resume preparation, mock interviews, how to conduct a job search, etc.

Job training workshops in a variety of career disciplines

Life skills including personal presentation, budgeting and finance, self-advocacy, using public transportation, appointment scheduling, etc.

Empowerment/Enrichment programs offered through The Arc’s Community Life & Advocacy (CL&A) program.
