Together we make a difference!

The Arc New London County’s Community Integration Program embodies the idea that all persons with disabilities should have the opportunity to live as valued members of our community.  Participants in the Community Integration Program contribute more than 900 volunteer hours annually by collaborating with local organizations. Some highlights of our volunteer efforts: Shredding papers for local pet shops and Humane Societies, donating clothes and supplies to Goodwill, Madonna House and United Community Center and more. CIP participants also make dog biscuits for local veterinary providers.

All activities are designed to facilitate participants’ abilities to develop community connections and form friendships with community members.

Some destinations favored by CIP participants include visits to local zoos, fire houses, aquariums, parks, libraries and farms. Activities are designed to encourage the growth of daily living skills and to provide opportunities for participants to engage as active members of our Southeastern Connecticut communities.

Our caring and creative team is always looking for new and exciting experiences to introduce to our programming options and opportunities.

The Arc Quinebaug Valley and The Arc New London County merged in July 2019 to form The Arc Eastern Connecticut.  Both agencies were established in 1952 by parents of children with intellectual disabilities in order to ensure equal participation and choice in school, in the workplace, and in their communities. Combining program and staff strengths, The Arc Eastern Connecticut now serves the entire eastern CT region and is the largest chapter of The Arc in the state.
